The Wayne County Chapter offers a number of
Community Services in the Wayne County Area:
Project Share & Community Heating Fund:
The Red Cross partners with NYSEG and Rochester Gas & Electric to alleviate energy emergencies.
This fund is supported by contributions from RG&E & NYSEG, RG&E & NYSEG customers, RG&E & NYSEG employees and the Greater Rochester and Fingerlakes communities.
The program provides grants to eligible applicants to alleviate heating emergencies such as a lack of fuel oil, wood, propane or potential discontinuation of natural gas or electricity service. This fund helps people who do not qualify for government assistance such as HEAP. For a complete list of guidelines please contact the office and speak with Raquel.
FEMA Assistance:
This program helps Wayne
County residents with heating,
mortgage, or rent bills.
Food Pantry:
The Wayne County Chapter
in partnership with the Newark
Together in Christ Board provides referrals to the local food
pantry.
This program is only open to Newark residents.
Christmas Is For Kids Holiday Program:
Working through the Red
Cross, local families, organizations, and
businesses sponsor families during the holiday season by
providing
gifts and food. Program starts in mid-November and concludes
mid-December.
